Another Try

Back when we actually had clear skies, about a month ago, I made another attempt a shooing M-31 (Andromeda Galaxy) through my ST80 refractor. I made a few improvements over my first attempt.

Here's a side-by-side comparison...

The new one is on the left, and the original is on the right. I didn't do much different except take a larger number of subs. So, instead of 30 minutes worth of exposure on the original, the new one comprises about 60 minutes of exposure.

Same scope, same camera, same purple achromat rings around the stars. Hopefully, I'll be able to try the new AT8RC scope before the snow flies. Although, this galaxy is so big, I'll probably have to do a mosaic.
