Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter Images Apollo Sites

This is one of the cooler things that has come from a space probe lately. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has taken images of all of the Apollo landing sites.
Apollo 11 Landing Site Taken by LRO The image you see here to the right is the Apollo 11 descent module which was left behind after Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong blasted off on their way back to the orbiting Command Module.

I was only a year old when Apollo 11 landed, so I have no memory of it or any of the subsequent landings. But at least I believe that we went there, which is more that can be said for some people. I keep hoping that these images will finally quell the tinfoil hat crowd's rantings, but I'm probably deluding myself more than they are.

Oh well. I will just keep pointing these poor souls to Phil Plait's moon hoax debunking site and move on...
